Caching with PSRs and using the concept of MVP

Details

Thursday 22nd June, we organise a Developer Meetup about caching with PSRs and using the concept of MVP @Drukwerkdeal.nl in Deventer.

PHP Standards Recommendations (PSRs) are PHP community standards developed by the PHP Framework Interoperability Group (PHP-FIG). It is about how we should write code in a way that it’ll be easily readable and usable by others. Not only to other people but also other applications, generators, and other not humans (including yourself).

We all have different backgrounds and use different frameworks. So do you want to learn how to write maintainable and future proof code? We’ve invited Hannes Van De Vreken to tell about Caching with PSRs. Hannes is a software Engineer at madewithlove.be, open source user and contributor, organiser of meetups in Belgium and also a marathon runner.

We also have invited Tim Huijzers, developer @ Drukwerkdeal.nl, to tell about how to use the concept of MVP to ship a project early and be able to learn from the business.

WHAT ABOUT USING THE CONCEPT OF MVP?
In a lot of companies, people like to scream “MVP” without knowing what it is and why you want to have it. In this talk we will walk through a couple of weeks where 5 developers and 1 UX Guy were put together to accomplish the near Impossible. Deliver a project in 3 weeks that was supposed to take 6 weeks. All of this without a Scrum master and a Product Owner.

WHAT ABOUT CACHING WITH PSRs?
Hannes will tell you what PSR-6 and PSR-16 are, why they are designed like they are, what the differences are, and how to use them. From the provided interfaces, the virtual package on Packagist.org, to the implementations available. Everything will be explained for both beginners and more experienced developers. We will dive into implementations, cache stampede protection, all using libraries we can find on Packagist.org. We will also show how to start using it today in our current applications by using adapters. The entire talk will be accompanied with code samples and live demos, showing both working and failing caching systems.

Sounds interesting?? It's for free, so lets meet! There’s room for 50 developers so if you’re interested, sign up fast!
