Announcing a new Meetup for Twin Sum Drum!

What: Drum Circle With Jaime Meyer

When: Saturday, September 25,[masked]:30 PM

Where: UU Church
605 Rice St. E.
Wayzata, MN 55391

Drumming starts at 7:30 PM. Don't stress over being a little late. There are all kinds of drums in the room from all kinds of traditions. We welcome all drums, rattles and wahoo-makers, all drummers and all experience levels! Sometimes people show up with melody instruments, and that brings happiness. If you'd rather dance than drum, come and dance, because that brings happiness too. It's not a wide open drum jam - I facilitate lightly, suggesting rhythms and teaching whatever needs to be taught. But, the core of our drumming is that we allow the spirit of the drum to come and sweep us away, and "play through us." So I only step in when I need to.

The drumming lasts for about 90 minutes or, as I like to say "until we are ready." We take a short break for snacks and conversation with fellow drummers, then the second part of the evening is more directly ceremonial, meditative, prayerful, or shamanic - whichever word you wish to use. We include the break between the two parts so that those who want the drumming but don't want the ceremony may exit without feeling they are put on the spot. The best way to understand what happens at these drumming events is to come and try it out, or read some of Jaime's blog posts here.

Questions? Want to receive email reminders a few days before the next drum? Send Jaime an email: [address removed]
