Drunken Philosophy @ College Inn Pub - U District
Details
This is an every-other-Saturday-night get-together for people who want to have inappropriately serious conversations with strangers. All are welcome and no a priori knowledge of philosophy or anything else is required or expected. There are no fixed topics and no rules other than the categorical imperative to not be assholes to one another.
Come meet cranks, fanatics, weirdos and friendly people who actually know a lot about philosophy and other stuff. Melt a hole in the dreaded Seattle Freeze with the power of Big Talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUbjpwyesk0).
Totally Optional Topic / Podcast:
partiallyexaminedlife.com/2025/12/22/ep-382-1-freud-group-psych/
The Partially Examined Life podcast discusses Freud’s Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego (1921) in this recent episode. In this first part of the episode, they bring up a lot of questions relating to how human behavior can change in a group dynamic without really giving their own answers or diving too deep into Freudian terminology. It could be a good source of discussion questions for those who are interested.
