Chris Jansen- Why your code turns to pasta and what to do about it

After starting on a brand new project you're burning trough those user stories like a freight-train. Your velocity is high and your project manager and/or client is happy. But after a while the changing requirements, nasty bugs and the pressure to deliver those new features start turning your code to spaghetti/lasagna. All of a sudden simple changes take hours to implement. Your velocity is reduced to that of a drunk snail and your deadline rushes closer. Your project manager starts bothering you about every little bug and the client is requesting a refund.

You'll learn about software craftsmanship, professionalism, estimation and ways to assure and maintain code quality. It won't make your code bug free or prevent your client from changing their mind (and the requirements as a result), but it will give you the tools to stay calm, professional and in control of your code.

Giuseppe Maggiore - Highly interactive, highly reliable, Single Page Web Applications in TypeScript and React, using Headless Drupal

In this talk we discuss how to build rich and interactive client-side applications which are capable of offering immediate responses to the user and reduced load times and pauses by means of Headless Drupal in combination with TypeScript and React. The extensive type-safety facilities of TypeScript ensure that more errors are found at compile-time, and this combined with a rich sub-language for the definition of types constitutes a powerful safety net which makes a large subset of one’s typical (structural) unit tests superfluous. React adds yet another qualitative increase by forcing the user interface to be referentially transparent, thereby avoiding unpredictable side-effects and ensuring a higher degree of scalability.
