A first in a series of securing Drupal and your server by Scott Wolpow and Robert Rusinko
Hacked sites and servers are a bigger problem today than even a few years ago. From defacement to phishing to assets theft the threats are real and happening. No matter if you have a simple site or a complex complex set of AWS servers you need to know how to defend your server what to look for.
A life long entrepreneur, Scott has been involved in computing since the days of Western Union Teletypes. He joined the Drupal community in 2009 and has been managing projects for various clients.Recently he joined forces with Robert to form Public CTO, which offers technical expertise for companies that do not have their own tech team.
After a long career on Wall Street in Fintech, Robert Rusinko created a startup for hosting high performance computing in 2008. As cloud computing became dominated by a few companies, he shifted gears.
Currently working with Scott Wolpow at Public CTO, a firm that is vendor agnostic and helps companies with technology.

Could Drupal hold the key that allows workers to manage - maybe even embrace - the digital transformation upending all industries? by Doug McCabe
Our talk this Wednesday will discuss the program's achievements and identify challenges. Audience participation and questions are welcome, before and after the event!"
Doug McCabe is an Executive Member of the Union Web Services (UWS) Collective and President of Operations since 2008. Since 2010, UWS has partnered with the Communications Workers of America in New York City to pilot a Joint Labor-Management worker re-training and up-skilling program, beginning with CWA and other local union members. This program has trained approximately 100 members at various times and now developed a team of drupal-based associates and coders. Such programs , if successful and mutually acted upon, may be key to redressing income inequality and some of the current economic and societal challenges facing our country. How to develop and train a 21st Century Workforce appears, more and more, as one unsolved riddle or "piece of the puzzle."
Meanwhile, we are always looking for speakers! Submit your suggestions at http://drupal.nyc/suggest !
