Vibe coding Drupal: Hype, Help, or Just Noise

AI coding assistants are everywhere, Cursor, Copilot, Cline, Junie, Claude Code, WindSurf, Continue… and there’s a new one launching every month. But beyond the buzz, how useful are these tools in really?

Most demos are built around React apps or simple static sites. That’s not what we do. So what happens when you're working on a Drupal project, writing custom modules, working with existing code.

This talk is a summary of what I’ve learned using these tools day-to-day over the last couple years. I’ll show actual production code generated by AI, highlight what works for me and break down a few key takeaways for getting practical value from them.

These tools aren’t going anywhere. Like IDEs or version control, they’re becoming part of the workflow.

After the talk a few of us will head down to the pub and have a couple of drinks and everyone is welcome to join us.
