Cleaning up the queue with Bug Smash Initiative, Pamela Barone
The latest Drupal core initiative is focused on fixing bugs in core. Inspired by core committer Lee Rowlands, Bug Smash is taking aim at the core bug report queue, having already closed more than 500 bugs and fixed more than 100 in just a few months. I'll explain how we've done this, what we're aiming for and how you can get involved and get smashing. For more info please check out the initiative page: https://www.drupal.org/community-initiatives/drupal-core/bug-smash
Experience with WordPress vs Drupal as a Developer, Queenie Robertson
Queenie has developed numerous sites for clients using both Drupal and WordPress. She will share her experiences with both from a developer experience. So which one is better? :)
Drupal Career pathways working group, Kristy de Vries
After discussions at DrupalSouth last year, a Working Group was formed to evaluate outreach to new developers in universities and other communities, training, internship programs and employment opportunities so that we can attract more talent to Drupal. In this presentation, I’ll provide an overview on who is involved and what we’ve been working on.
Looking for work?
A chance for Drupal developers who are looking for work (contracts, partnerships, employment) to make a 1 min pitch to the audience. This is your chance to intro yourself. Be sure to mention your skills and what work you are looking for.
Lightning talks
Got a quick 5 min talk up your sleeve? Bring it along on the day.
Get involved
We are actively encouraging presenters and mentors to come forth to take part in future events. If you have some ideas, just let us know. Each month there is room for lightning talks as well, so if you have something to present bring it along.
