After a prolonged absence, we’re reintroducing our semi-regular series of “TARDIS Talks” – guided conversations and discussions about various aspects of Doctor Who and its fandom.

Nine years ago, the BBC announced that it had discovered nine previously “lost” episodes from the classic area. This past year, the BBC announced that it would be canceling its series of animated reconstructions after the release of “The Abominable Snowman”.

And there are some who ask – why should we care? We have all new Doctor Who! Some argue that telesnap reconstructions are the “best” way to experience missing Doctor Who. In all this discussion, there’s one important question worth asking:

Is this a case of cultural preservation or a fan-driven need to have a “complete set”?

Join us on March 10th for a lively discussion. We’ll listen to a BBC Radio documentary from 2009 about missing episodes, and then move into a healthy, moderated discussion about how and why Doctor Who fans enjoy watching missing episode reconstructions.
