Well – this is a unique event. I grew up in the Chicago area, and I have stayed friends with Saara Patel. She lives on the east side, and we thought it would be fun to plan a food/cultural-focused day in Dearborn.

It’ll be an entire day, and I am going regardless, but excited to see if anyone would like to join.

Order of Events:
- Leave Grand Rapids 8:30 am (location of departure TBD, dependent on number of/location of attendees).

- Appx. 2.5 hour drive to Dearborn

- Meet at Dellah’s for brunch at 11:00 am - https://www.dellahcoffeebrunch.com/. 2? hour stay, appx. $10-20.

- 13 minute drive to Arab American National Museum - https://arabamericanmuseum.org/.

- Visit Arab American National Museum at 1:30 pm. $10 entrance fee - stay appx. 1.5 hours, until 3:00 pm.

- Haraz Coffee -https://harazcoffeehouse.com/. Only .1 miles away/walking distance. Stay from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm and expect between $10-20.

- Islamic Center of America -https://icofa.com/. This is a Shia mosque, free admittance, 9 minutes from Haraz coffee. Visit from 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm.

- Finish with Canteen at Midtown - https://canteenatmidtown.com/. Wide variety of food options, like shwarma, sushi, pasta, burgers, drinks, and dessert. 7 minutes from Islamic Center, stay about an hour. Expect between $10-20.

- We will leave for home about 6:30 pm, and return to GR around 9:00 pm.

These times are reasonable estimates. We may decide to stay longer at each place or leave sooner – traffic will influence timing – etc.

I look forward to spending time with whomever is able to join!
