Do we need Front End Developers?

As UX and interaction design continues to prove itself as a market differentiator, the code that drives an application's front end is becoming increasingly complex. Does that complexity necessitate a person whose primary role is the front end of an application?

If it is, how do we categorize that person? Is that the only thing they do? Do they live closer to the design side of the equation? How do we successfully integrate such a person and their skills into a small agile or lean team?

Join us at Thoughtworks NYC on the evening of Thursday February 21st to have a drink and a snack, meet new people, and participate in a lively debate!

7:00PM — We open our doors to the community. Join us for a beer! Meet someone new!

~7:30PM — Panel debate on the role of front end dev in experience design practice, lean/agile process, and in the future. We'll close with open questions from the floor.

Panelists TBA

30-45 Minutes Later — Feel free to stick around and discuss for as long as you like.

This is a great opportunity to make new friends, do a little networking, and talk to people that really care about the intersection of user experience and technology. We'd love to have you!
