THE CLUBHOUSE HALLOWEEN PARTY: Costumes, Chaos & Questionable Decisions
Details
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, which means the Dysfunctional Clubhouse is abandoning all pretense of restraint and turning our weekly movie-night slot into the biggest gathering of the Clubhouse year.
Doors open at 6:00 PM. Come when you can, stay as long as you like, and expect costumes, food, games, music, movies, decorations, strange little side quests, and several rooms of humans making different levels of questionable decisions. This is a party rather than our normal six-trailer movie vote, although screens will certainly be glowing somewhere.
COSTUMES: ENCOURAGED, NEVER REQUIRED
Go elaborate, go funny, go obscure, throw on a cape at the last minute, or arrive dressed as yourself. There is no costume-quality threshold and nobody will be put on display against their will. We may invent a few ridiculous optional honors once we see what walks through the door.
THE OPTIONAL POTLUCK
Bring something spooky, seasonal, comforting, store-bought, homemade, questionably assembled, or merely edible. Chips count. Candy counts. Showing up empty-handed also counts. If your food contains a common allergen, please label it so nobody has to solve a medical mystery at the Halloween party.
WHAT WILL ACTUALLY BE HAPPENING
• Party games and easy drop-in activities
• Halloween music, movies, and background weirdness
• Space to sit, talk, snack, decompress, or wander between rooms
• Optional costumes and assorted low-stakes nonsense
• Possible interference from Nibz, the Clubhouse's increasingly suspicious digital goblin
Specific surprises may mutate as Halloween approaches. The important part is that you do not need to perform, compete, know anybody already, or understand every reference to belong here.
NEW TO THE CLUBHOUSE?
You are genuinely welcome. Come alone, bring a friend, arrive late, leave early, participate loudly, participate quietly, or just get comfortable near other humans. This is held at our longtime private-home Clubhouse HQ in Elon. If walking into a new group—or somebody's home—feels uncertain, message us. A real human can answer questions, explain what to expect, or meet you at the door.
This is primarily an adult social gathering. The evening may include mature movies, music, language, horror imagery, alcohol brought by individual guests, and cats exercising poor judgment. Please contact the organizer before bringing younger guests so we can tell you what is planned.
Costumes are optional. Food is optional. Social perfection is not even available. RSVP if you can so we have a rough idea how many creatures to expect.
