Continuing our 2025 theme of entrepreneurship, we are excited to announce the second event in our guest speaker series. Last month, we explored the importance of balancing user desirability, technical feasibility, and business viability as the foundation for true innovation, with a focus on learning the best practices of business. In this event, we will shift our focus to understanding how innovation can be translated into a profitable business. We’ll dive into the principles of design entrepreneurship with our guest speaker, Deborah Mrazek, founding partner of Curiate."
Deborah is a design and innovation strategist with nearly 40 years of experience igniting ingenuity to unlock customer value and drive business success. She believes curiosity at the intersection of customer needs, business goals, and resources fosters innovative, human-centered solutions. Her approach combines theory with practice and coaching with action. She has successfully guided clients from startups to Fortune 100s, governments, and NGOs in leveraging ingenuity to develop human-centered strategies, promoting collaboration to integrate these into organizational plans for measurable results. As a systems thinker, she has created a toolkit of frameworks and tools that nurture curiosity at all levels, empowering teams to achieve breakthrough innovation. Recognized as an authority on Design Value, she holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering and Human Factors. She is also an avid cook who enjoys using local, seasonal, and foraged ingredients, fueling her creative passions.
