What we’re about
We’re a community of infosec people based around Dublin. Everyone is welcome whether you’re a pro, an amateur or just curious about the field!
We're following in the tradition of Cork|Sec and Infosec-NI meet-ups - Our aim is to chat about security, help each other out with questions and projects, and provide a social setting for all of this.
Monthly meetups happen on the last Wednesday of the month - see the event information for location.

19:00 - Talk 1: Threats to cybersecurity careers by Owen O'Connor
In cybersecurity we think deeply about threats to systems, information, and organisations – but not about our own careers. For us as individuals, our careers are of huge value: tactically important to pay our bills, and clearly strategic long-term. But what is our threat model for a career, how do we monitor threats, how do we respond?
This talk will stand back from cybersecurity work to think about whole careers. Owen will outline the academic idea of “sustainable careers” and look at how that maps to our world. He’ll then explore particular threats identified by security practitioners: the factors that might derail a career or harm that idea of career sustainability. This is based on work-in-progress for a PhD at UCD, hopefully leading to a better understanding of cybersecurity career threats and how to mitigate them.
Talk 2: TBC
