📖 Book Summary:
This haunting and thought-provoking novel follows Ansel Packer, a convicted serial killer on death row with just twelve hours left to live. But instead of focusing solely on his crimes, the story unfolds through the voices of three women whose lives were forever altered by his actions: his mother, a detective, and the sister of one of his victims. Through their perspectives, Kukafka dismantles the myth of the “serial killer narrative,” shifting the spotlight from the perpetrator to the women affected by his violence. Notes on an Execution is a literary thriller that challenges our cultural obsession with violent men and explores themes of justice, fate, and the possibility of redemption.
