This has been started for people who want to get together and make new local friends.
If you want to enjoy days away, trips, nights out for film, art, theatre, culture, live music, and lots more then its going to be a perfect fit.
If you like helping the community, volunteering for projects with your neighbours, it will give you a great sense of belonging and making lifelong friends and good neighbours.
If this has checked some things off your list, then this group for you.
It is not an activist group, so no local political agendas will be entertained. Nor does it advertise local businesses. But if they wish to give us something free, we will take it, for example, free finger food, reserved seating, free entry etc.
From previous experience, we do not do collect for charity events. But if we are going to something that says it's for charity, everyone can pay themselves, at the door or book in advance, however, they will be handling their own money. When something comes up that costs money, it is a necessity for everyone, to pay their own. I will do one group booking and see how it goes but if it gets messy I would be reluctant to do another. We don't do that for your and are not responsible if you don't purchase your ticket in good time. However, we will always set up Meetups, if any offer is free from an entertainer, or if its very affordable especially for us members only. I won't turn that down if it comes our way.
We'll accept all suggestions, but there is no guarantee of us taking it up because it will be subject to our availability and our own interest in the topic because we can't all like the same things, and won't pay for something that isn't a fit. This could be disappointing but we have to run it according to our own tastes and has to take into account that we have lives going on outside of this group also.
We are really setting this up so that people in Dublin 15 can make local friends or acquaintances. It is non profit and a community effort is required for it to work well and be successful in achieving its goal. Which is about all of us making every area in Dublin it an even better place for us to live and grow.
So please sign up for as many events as is possible, for you, yourself. There is only a one off payment of €5 to join to cover phone calls, reconnaissance trips to see how suitable events are for us and other time taken up in planning and organisation. Plus this will also help with the yearly subscription paid to Meetup HO in New York for us to be able to use this platform and the specific APP for running it. I'll get in touch with everyone privately about this.
