AI Projects, Delivery & Governance — An Informal Conversation

AI is changing not only what we build, but also how we think about projects, delivery and governance.

For our first Dublin Artificial Intelligence (AI) Collaboration Space meetup, let’s get together for an informal conversation around a simple question:

What changes when we move from traditional and Agile software projects into AI projects?

Traditional project management gives us structure and predictability. Agile helps us work iteratively and adapt through feedback. But AI introduces another layer of uncertainty — data quality, experimentation, model behaviour, probabilistic outcomes, evaluation, governance and continuous monitoring.

So how should the way we manage and deliver projects evolve?

Some things we might explore

• How AI projects differ from traditional and Agile software projects
• Where Agile principles work well for AI — and where we may need to adapt
• How data, experimentation and model evaluation affect delivery
• Why governance becomes increasingly important across the AI lifecycle
• Responsible AI, transparency, fairness, accountability and human oversight
• How frameworks such as CPMAI can help us navigate AI project uncertainty
• How generative AI and agentic systems are changing project delivery
• What people are currently building, experimenting with or learning

But these are just conversation starters — there’s no rigid agenda and no expectation that we cover everything.

This is a peer-to-peer space to exchange ideas, experiences, questions, tools and different perspectives. I’ll bring some thoughts from my own experience in Agile/project delivery and recent learning around AI project management, governance and agentic AI to help get things started.

If you’re working on something interesting, bring it along. If you’ve learned something recently, share it. If you have a question, throw it into the conversation. And if you simply want to listen and learn from others, that’s completely fine too.
