Applied Mathematics

Come for the doughnuts but stay for the maths.

We will have 3 speakers, each will have the floor for 20 minutes to talk about a topic in applied mathematics.

One of the speakers will be Prof Andrew Smith from the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics. He will give a talk about some the maths of voting and elections.

Dr Paulito Palmes from IBM Research will talk about designing a programming langauge for applied mathematics.
