North Bull Island is particularly good because it combines mudflats, saltmarsh, dunes, beach and grassland, attracting a huge variety of birds. Itโ€™s also a UNESCO Biosphere area.

The outing is aimed at enjoying birds and nature together, whether youโ€™re an experienced birder or completely new to birdwatching.

We will:

  • ๐Ÿšถ Walk at a relaxed pace, stopping regularly to look and listen for birds.
  • ๐Ÿ”ญ Use binoculars to observe birds without disturbing them.
  • ๐Ÿฆ Look for a variety of shorebirds, waders, gulls, ducks and other coastal species.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‚ Learn how to identify birds by both their appearance and calls.
  • ๐ŸŒŠ Explore different habitats around North Bull Island, including the beach, dunes and wetlands.
  • ๐Ÿ“ธ Have opportunities for bird photography.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Share knowledge and help beginners get comfortable using binoculars and identifying species.
  • ๐ŸŒฟ Respect the wildlife and keep a safe distance from birds, particularly feeding and nesting areas.
