What we’re about
The Dublin Buddhist Centre is part of a world-wide community of Buddhist centres called the Triratna Buddhist Community. We are a not-for-profit charity, and have been teaching Buddhism, meditation and yoga in Dublin since 1990.
Buddhism is a path of practise and spiritual development leading to a liberating insight into the true nature of life. It enables people to fulfill their deepest potential, and to develop the qualities of Wisdom and Compassion.
Our meditation courses look at ways of developing both mindfulness and loving-kindness. These meditation techniques are simple but effective practices drawn from the Buddhist tradition, suitable for anyone to learn and do.
We also offer yoga courses and classes, which will have positive effects on your mind as well as your body. Yoga is a highly effective tool to help calm the mind and body and alleviate stress, leaving you more relaxed and content.
Looking forward to seeing you in our beautiful Buddhist centre!
Life is busy and before we know it we can be lost in a strange mix of worldly over-consumption and spiritual under-nourishment! In all this, we can lose touch with the deeper nature of the mind and its significance in how we create our experience of self and world.
On this two-day workshop of meditation instruction and practice, Vajrashura will lead an exploration of The Satipatthana Sutta the Buddha’s teaching on mindfulness.
We’ll firstly connect with the context for mind, the body, and how the body feels. Then we notice the quality of mind we have within this bodily experience, and how we can creatively respond to this mind that we find ourselves with.
Finding the mind also involves realizing for ourselves what constitutes a healthy, positive, and fit mind, how we can cultivate this for ourselves, and how bringing into being this fit mind is itself the main part of the direct way to freedom as described by the Buddha.
