Glendalough/Blessington Loop

Distance 115km, 1500m of climbing.

#This route is only suitable for regular fit cyclists.

For this cycle, we are going to take take on Glendelough and Blessingington Reservoir. See link to komoot map:

Here is the plan for the day:

1. Leave from the Swan Leisure
2. Cycle to Glencree via Military Road where we'll stop for a quick coffee at the Armoury Cafe.
3. Cycle to Sally Gap then head South to Glendalough where we'll have a longer stop for food/water.
4. Cycle to Blessington via R756 where we'll have another quick stop for food/water if needed.
5. Cycle back to where we started via backroads and R114.

A lovely, but strenuous days cycling, with some fine dramatic scenery. I highly recommend bringing plenty of food and water for this cycle if you haven't ridden like this before. Carbs and water are key.

Please wear a helmet and bring a tube etc in case you get a puncture.
