South Coastal Loop (130km/1400m)

Distance 130km, 1400m of climbing.

#This route is only suitable for fit cyclists.

For this cycle, we are going to cycle down the coast to Wicklow and come back through Laragh/Enniskerry.

Note that this route may be reversed depending on wind conditions.

Here is the plan for the day:

1. Leave from the Swan Leisure Centre
2. Cycle down the coast to Killiney where we'll stop for coffee.
3. Continue South to Wicklow, where we'll have a longer stop for food/water.
4. Cycle West to Laragh where we'll have another stop for food/water.
5. Cycle North through Enniskerry to arrive back at Swan Leisure.

A lovely, but strenuous day of cycling. I highly recommend bringing plenty of food and water for this cycle if you haven't ridden like this before. Carbs and water are key. I try to consume 0.5L of water and 30g - 50g of carbs per hour on rides like this.

Please wear a helmet and bring a tube etc in case you get a puncture.
