How to Think About the Future

In a departure from our usual format, this month's Dublin Data Science talk is a lighthearted look at how companies tackle innovation and advances in technology.

The talk covers how companies have historically reacted to changes in the technological landscape and then sets out the current landscape. Finally. the talk makes some predictions about the likely direction of travel for companies, especially in the light of recent high-profile advances in AI.

The speaker, Michael Crawford, started programming as a child in the early 80s on a borrowed Apple II and hasn't stopped since. Originally trained as an actuary, he has worked in technology and business roles over the course of a varied career and has had a front row seat on the innovation journey of many companies over the last thirty years.
