Special Event - Is irish Neutrality A Sham
Details
Time has been changed
This Tuesday, the 25th, Dublin Debaters and The Engineers Toastmasters will face off in their annual debating showdown an evening of sharp wit, lively argument, and club pride.
This year’s motion tackles a question that feels more urgent than ever: “Is Irish Neutrality a Sham?”
In a time of global tension and shifting geopolitical alliances, Ireland’s long-held tradition of neutrality is under renewed scrutiny. Is it a genuine guiding principle of our foreign policy, or merely a comforting illusion we choose to believe? Both teams will dig deep into history, ethics, and international affairs to persuade you of their side.
Two teams of four speakers will go head-to-head, each determined to claim victory in this prestigious annual competition. Expect compelling arguments, passionate rebuttals, and no shortage of humour as both clubs bring their best to the stage.
Please note: This event will take place in a different venue from our usual meetings.
We are delighted to be hosted this year by The Engineers Toastmasters, at 22 Clyde Road, Dublin 4, D04 R3N2.
Time: 19:30
Date: Tuesday the 25th
