Security Monitoring for Kubernetes
Gurpreet Kaur
Gurpreet is part of Security Detection Engineering Team at Workday. She recently worked on setting up some monitoring alerts for AWS EKS clusters and some self hosted clusters (where a threat detection software is being used ). Gurpreet will talk about how security monitoring works for Kubernetes, what are the different types of threats / common threats that can impact Kubernetes environment, what are some of the security best practices to keep in mind when deploying a cluster.

What the hell is going on inside my containers?

Using the Falco Open Source tool, let's explore what your application's log doesn't show, such as what is happening in tty. If someone has access to your container shell, they can download external malicious programs for an exploit or mine using its resources. We will see how simple it is to intercept these malicious actions and generate enriched events using Falco. It could also be a nice plus if you are studying for CKS.
