Linux Install fest (beginner friendly)

Details
Are you brand new to Linux? Are you curious how it would run as a desktop operating system as an alternative to Windows or Mac OS? Well, here is your chance to bring a laptop and install it with the guidance of a community of people who have gone through the steps and could help answer your questions. We are also a friendly community who regularly help each other out with questions. Join our Telegram or Matrix rooms (details on our website https://dublinlinux.org).
We have booked Tcube co-working space for the event. They are located upstairs off street level. There is a buzzer on the door. Let them know that you are attending the Dublin Linux event, and they will buzz you in.
We will have demo laptops that you will be able to try it out and see how it works. Linux is very customisable and has User Interfaces that try to replicate what might be familiar with using Windows and others that would try to be more familiar to Mac OS users. Some will be a combination of both and some others have a unique approach. We will try to have different demotrations of these.
Disclaimers:
We are all volunteers and will be donating our free time and knowledge for those interested in trying Linux out.
- Should you want to go ahead with an installation. Please back up all important data beforehand. We will do our best to preserve any data, but it is not a guarantee. It is likely that the storage drive will be wiped in the process. We aren't responsible for any data loss.
- We will be targeting a beginner-friendly Linux distro (likely Ubuntu). If you have a request for a specific distro (like Fedora, Open Suse, Arch etc) we will try to help you, but it isn't the primary goal of the event.
- The most likely to work will be non-Apple hardware
- Any support we will give will be "best efforts"
- We will have at least one Windows install USB on us if you would want us to revert on the day.
