Day trip to the Maria Edgeworth Centre and visit to the Harry Clarke window in the local church.

• Time for a quick coffee before:
• Walk to the Maria Edgeworth Centre, approximately 12 minutes
• Arrival Maria Edgeworth Centre for tour
• 13:30 Lunch booked for 15 at Bia Deas.
• After lunch you may return to the Maria Edgeworth Centre or look at the stain glass windows in St. Mary's Church
• 16.40 train departs Edgeworthstown for Dublin Connolly arriving 18.18

Come and discover more about this extraordinary woman, intellectual, novelist and educationalist, who was born 1762, daughter of Richard Lovell, a reforming landlord.
She was a best selling author who way out sold Jane Austin during their lifetimes.
Together with her father, she wrote a remarkably enlightened book on education and built the first National School in the area.
During her lifetime, she corresponded with the greatest intellectuals of her time. The greats included Jane Austin, William Wordsworth, Sir Walter Scott, Michael Faraday, Charles Darwin and the Duke of Wellington to name but a few!
The museum is delightfully intimate, in contrast with many modern museums.
We will also see the Harry Clarke window in the church.
