RTE Lyric Feature ‘Building a Ballet’: Listen Together, Lexicon

Details
Come join me to listen to the recent award winning RTE Lyric Feature audio documentary, 'Building a Ballet''. It tells the story of the unconventional women behind Dublin's forgotten National Ballet Company in the years 1957 to 1964, including teacher and choreographer Patricia Ryan, a long term resident of Monkstown/Sandycove.
The documentary includes dramatised excerpts from Ryan's unpublished memoirs, letters from figures ie Samuel Beckett and artist Patrick Collins, and recently discovered archive audio of an original Irish ballet written by Patrick Kavanagh.
A 52 min collective listening experience will be held in the dark with the words running on screen. Patricia Ryan's memoirs are voiced by her granddaughter Simone Collins.
There are a max of ten tickets booked. Anyone who RSVPs and are on the going list, there is a ticket for you.
We will meet in the Lexicon library Cafe at 6.40pm. Queuing will start at 6.50pm.
Members are responsible for their own health and Safety at Meetups.
See you there.
