The Boyne Valley

Five detailed lectures centred on the Boyne Valley will be the annual Summer Series for 2025. These lectures will amplify the wonderful May outings to sites at Monasterboice, Mellifont, Loughcrew, Fourknocks, Bective Abbey and Beaubec near Drogheda.

Each lecture to begin at 8pm. The location is Rathmichael School Hall,
The lectures are free to members and will be held, as usual, in Rathmichael National School, Stonebridge Road, Shankill, Co. Dublin. They will also be available via Zoom.

Tuesday 12th - The Medieval Bridges of the Boyne Valley - Rob Goodbody
Wednesday 13th Leo Swan Memorial Lecture
The Ford of Broe on the Boyne = Paul Gosling
Thursday 14th - Historic Trim - Michael Potterton
Friday 15th Houses of the Boyne = Aisling Durkan

Admission is open to non-members for a nightly fee of €5. Tickets may be purchased on-line (https://rathmichaelhistoricalsociety.ie/ bottom of page) or at the door

If you attend all five lectures, it is better to become a member of the Society (https://rathmichaelhistoricalsociety.ie/rhs-membership/ ) which will also give access to three monthly talks, October to December.

All lectures can also be attended via Zoom. The Zoom access code is sent automatically when a ticket is purchased on the web site. Note that each talk has a different access code.
