The Honourable Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan, MIRA will explore how the Constitution, originally intended to end partition- has instead reinforced the institutions of the Southern State. Since the early 80's, significant changes have been made: the deletion of the Catholic Church's special position (1972), the removal of the ban on divorce (1996), & the revision of Articles 2 and 3 under the Good Friday Agreement (1998-1999)
Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan, has served as High Court & Court of Appeal and was Advocate General at the Court Justice of the EU.
We will meet inside the lobby at 5.15pm.
Lecture starts at 5.30pm and finishes at 8.30pm.
Light refreshments will follow.
