Gomleys is proud to present “Contemporary Icons,” a group exhibition bringing together works by some of the world’s most influential contemporary artists.
The exhibition showcases over 40 artworks, offering Irish audiences a rare opportunity to experience pieces together by globally celebrated contemporary artists.
At the heart of Contemporary Icons is a remarkable selection of 10 works by Andy Warhol, headlined by Mick Jagger (1975) – a striking portrait signed by both Andy Warhol and Mick Jagger. Also key is Orangutan (1983) – One of Warhol’s most coveted screen-prints from his “Endangered Species” series.
These pieces exemplify the bold visual language that helped define Warhol as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and in turn influencing many of the other exhibiting artists, including Keith Haring, Banksy, Robert Indiana, Julian Opie and Damien Hirst.
