Marsh's Library was founded in 1707 by Archbishop Narcissus Marsh. It was Ireland's first public library. It has remained unchanged for the past 300 years and is still a public library! Joan has arranged a private tour of this atmospheric old library in the shadow of St Patrick's Cathedral. She will share it's interesting history and introduce you to some of it's 25,000 rare books - and some of the Library's famous visitors who include Bram Stoker, James Joyce, Jonathan Swift -and it's resident ghost! You'll also have an opportunity to see the new exhibition of medieval manuscripts. Afterwards, if you wish, we can have lunch in the nearby Hyatt Centric Hotel. Cost of tour: 6 euros, payable by cash or card on the day.
