Dublin Microservices June Meetup!

Details

After returning last month we are delighted to get the community together again - lets hear from more fantastic speakers and have some great conversations around our favourite subject - Microservices!

Our twitter account: https://twitter.com/microservicedub - please follow to get updates pre and post event!

Speaker 1: Eoin Shanaghy - CTO at FourTheorem.

Title: Adopting Serverless and Getting to Production Faster

As with any emerging technology, early adopters of serverless are finding gaps in the tooling required to get started and iterate quickly. It also takes time to experiment and find the best patterns and practices. A certain amount of fear and trepidation is understandable as you embark on your serverless journey! How do I do logging and monitoring? What's the best way to do continuous deployment? What databases should I use and when? What tools should I use to build my serverless application? Should I use one repository per service or monorepo? These are just some of the hard decisions to be made and every one has the potential to slow you down and steer you off course as you push to get to production.

We have combined our experience in building production serverless systems with learnings from the community to create a set of best practices and tools. This is all put together in SLIC Starter, a production-grade open source serverless project that helps you to learn and get a complete system into production quickly.

Speaker 2: Alan Quigley - UI Engineer at Swrve.

Title: React Apps with GraphQL

A look at how GraphQL has changed our approach to frontend state management, testing and improved our overall developer experience.
