Talking The Talk, Walking the Walk

Details

UPDATE: In a turn for the better Neil Cremins (http://twitter.com/ncremins) will be introducing something he has been working on for a bit! Any more items from anyone?

UPDATE: Thanks to Ian Harris (http://twitter.com/_ianharris) for putting up his hand to do a short Show Us Yer App session!

UPDATE: Double disaster, Paul has taken ill today and won't be able to make is presentation this evening! We'll see if we can draft anyone on at this late stage. More updates to follow - check @xcakelabs (http://twitter.com/xcakelabs) regularly!

Have you ever wanted to give a talk at Xcake, or at a meetup, or at a conference? (The correct answer is yes) Everyone is nervous about talking to their peers, even if they are an expert in their field. And no doubt it is a difficult thing to do without some advice. Luckily for us, we have that advice, right here.

Paul Darcey (https://twitter.com/pauldarcey), a citizen of Appsterdam (http://appsterdam.rs/), has done this speaking thing before, more than once, and he has it sussed. In a talk entitled Talk The Talk, he'll guide us through the construction and delivery of a successful talk.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Roland has had to cancel this talk at very short notice through no fault of his own - he'll be back!

Sometimes, you would be forgiven for thinking that testing your apps user interface is not the funnest bit of the whole process of creation. But as a matter of fact, it is, especially if you use interesting tools that help with the heavy lifting and have a freaky domain specific language that makes it straightforward to specify your test path.

Roland Gröpmair, a regular face at Xcake, will present to us his latest investigations in this area, as part of his talk iOS and Android Test Automation with Calaba.sh (http://calaba.sh).

The usual after-event travel to O'Neills (http://www.oneillsdublin.com/) will occur for gossiping and rumour-mongering.
