The Irish Whiskey App + post WWDC talks (online event)

Because this week is the WWDC week and most of people are too busy watching sessions and trying new shiny tools and APIs we moved Xcake for 3rd Tue of the month.

After hard WWDC week, we can relax a bit, pour a glass of whiskey, seat back, and learn about recently released Irish Whiskey app.

Built with SwiftUI & Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, the Irish Whiskey App is the first ever app dedicated to the greatest spirit in the world! Featuring the largest database of Irish whiskey available anywhere, an App Store like discovery feature and a Vivino-esque AI bottle scanner, the Irish Whiskey App aims to demystify and educate people all over the world on the history and future of Irish whiskey.
Founders David McMahon & Conor Winders will talk through the background of the app and how it came to be, the technology stack in use, a live demo of the functionality, including the AI bottle scanner and future plans on where they see the app going.

Having founded and run for 7 years Redwind Software (as well as being founding members of Xcake), David and Conor are no strangers to the mobile app scene - however they have been absent from the startup scene for roughly 6 years, having moved on from Redwind Software and into the world of gameful employment.
In the time since, David has been building and leading UX for multiple large scale mobile apps whilst Conor has gone on to lead some of the largest software teams in Ireland as well as globally. The Irish Whiskey App is the first product they have launched as a team in many years and what better way to do it than with a shared passion in Irish Whiskey and an entirely new tech landscape in SwiftUI, Swift & Kotlin.
