Hands on Workshop :: Build RAG Based Chatbot Using MongoDB

Curious about how to make Large Language Models (LLMs) work with your organization's specific data? Join the MongoDB User Group Dublin for a hands-on workshop where you will learn how to supercharge LLMs with your own data using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).

In this session, you will explore the foundational concepts of RAG—including chunking, embedding, and semantic search—and leave with real-world skills to build smart, data-driven applications. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills, connect with the community, and work on a project you can be proud of.

• Please bring your laptop to fully participate in the hands-on sections of the workshop.

Workshop Overview
In this 2-hour 15-minute workshop, you will:

• Learn the foundations of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), including chunking, embedding, and semantic search
• Perform semantic search queries against a MongoDB Atlas collection
• Build an end-to-end RAG chatbot using MongoDB Atlas and open-source LLMs
• Add memory to your RAG application to make it more context-aware

You will be provided with all the resources needed, including access to a GitHub repository containing Jupyter Notebook templates with pseudocode. During the workshop, you will replace the pseudocode with your own working code.

At the end of the session, you will have the opportunity to check your learning and earn a skill badge to showcase your new capabilities.
