Drogheda artist and poet Kevin Branigan returns to Rathfarnham Castle to present a mixture of poetry, song and music on Saturday, 21 June. Kevin last performed at the Castle with his brother Patrick and Gerry Cullen, singing traditional songs in close harmony. Previously he performed with Reynardine who in 2005 released The Hare’s Dream, a mixture of Irish, Scottish and American folk songs.
More recently, in 2023, Kevin released Heart-Feather, a collection of poems full of both humorous and serious observations on life and loss. Kevin will read a number of these poems alongside songs released on his 2022 release The Night Was Made for Loving which Boston Irish.com described as “a quiet album in a very noisy age.” He will also play a number of his own tunes on fiddle and whistle.
🕰 Meeting time: 2:15pm.
