The UCD Symphony Orchestra presents a varied programme of classical music, featuring guest performers from Sweden.

The concert features Brahms’s Academic Festival Overture, a lively, good-humored piece that weaves student drinking songs into a grand orchestral celebration; Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, one of his final masterpieces, graceful and expressive in showcasing the clarinet’s warmth and agility; Smetana’s Vltava, a musical portrait of the great Czech river flowing from bubbling springs through forests, villages, and a majestic sweep toward Prague; and Alfvén’s Swedish Rhapsody No. 1, or “Midsummer Vigil,” a bright, folk-inspired work that captures the festive spirit of a Swedish summer night.

🕰 Meeting time: 7:45pm inside the church. I will be wearing a colourful scarf. Concert starts at 8:00pm.
