The duo for this performance is vocalist/sound artist Dorota Konchevska and pianist Myles Drennan. Long-time collaborators, they have built a musical dialogue and friendship shaped by philosophy and play. Together, they honor the jazz lineage while not being stuck up their own arrangements.
Yesterdays begins in the intimate world of jazz standards and gradually unfolds into new soundscapes. What starts as a traditional duo transforms throughout the set - electronics seep in, poetry speaks through the music, and field recordings of nature mingle with improvisation. The result is order and play, silence ā¦ wonder and nice release.
