Traditional music from the Flanagans @ IMMA
Details
The Flanagans are a family ensemble rooted in a rich musical heritage, proudly drawing inspiration from legendary relatives such as Sarah, Rita, Sean, Dolores and Matt Keane. The family originally hail from North Clare, a renowned hotbed of traditional Irish music. The group brings a deep sense of place and tradition to their performance.
Featuring Úna Ní Fhlannagáin, a critically acclaimed musician who’s recent album Tús showcases her innovative “new harp,” blending early Gaelic and modern Irish traditions; Fionnuala McKey, an award-winning musician and singer, including the prestigious Siansa Gael Linn title; Rory Fitzgerald, an All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil soloist winner and recent Siansa Gael Linn winner; Nora Ní Fhlannagáin is a well-established multi-instrumentalist with years of experience performing the flute and tin whistle; Luke Neylon, an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and multiple Fleadh Cheoil champion.
Together, The Flanagans offer a vibrant and authentic celebration of Irish traditional music, honouring the past while also giving a unique modern twist.
