Riak on AWS at Rovio

This month we have Ari Talja (https://twitter.com/haitari) giving a talk on Riak about AWS. Ari is Technical Director at Rovio Entertainment (http://www.rovio.com/), who are most commonly known as the makers of the extremely popular mobile game, Angry Birds. This talk will focus on the war stories Rovio have faced when deploying Riak at a huge scale. Prior to this we will give a 5 minute intro to Riak, whist eating Pizza, for those new to the technology.

Title: Riak on AWS at Rovio

Abstract: Running Riak or any database in a virtual environment is more challenging than running it on physical boxes. Rovio have used Riak in varying use cases in services of different scale and requirements. Sometimes, we've taken the hard way to learn how to implement our use cases correctly considering the possibilities and restrictions the environment and the tools have set to us.

We will then go to a local pub for some beers sponsored by Basho.
