Full Moon Over Beckett Bridge

Details
The March "Worm Moon" rises Sunday night!
Bag a classic Dublin shot! On Sunday evening, the (96% full) Moon will rise over the mouth of the River Liffey just as the Sun sets in the west. If weather conditions are clear, we'll have a lovely orange Moon emerging from over the 3 Arena and soaring up over the Samuel Beckett Bridge.
And if weather conditions aren't clear?
Well, we'll take some lovely long-exposure photographs of the Dublin Docks! Lemons into lemonade and all that. By 7PM it will be Blue Hour, and with some small apertures and perhaps a handy pair of sunglasses, we will get mirror-smooth shots of the river flowing through our fair city.
And if weather conditions are dreadful?
We will try for a raindate at 7PM Monday evening, although the lighting won't be as good.
Any level of photographic skill is suitable, and all cameras (even smartphones) are welcome. If you have the luxury of choice, I would recommend:
- A telephoto lens of at least 100mm focal length
- A medium lens of 75mm focal length will take in major landmarks on both banks of the Liffey as viewed from the Sean O'Casey Bridge.
- Two fully-charged camera batteries! If you haven't used your camera in a while, assume your batteries have run down
- A tripod
- A dark filter that fits your camera lens. A circular polariser (CPL) or a neutral density filter (ND 4) would be grand
- I will bring a modest "loaner" camera for anyone who doesn't have a camera and still wants to have fun
Toilets: Pearse Street DART station has facilities, but many of the nearby coffee shops will be closed on Sunday night.
This event will take place in clear or cloudy weather. Rain will postpone the event until Monday at 7PM. If it is raining at 4PM Sunday, I will post a postponement notice here on Meetup.
