What we’re about
We are a group of people who enjoy discussing TED talks in a sociable environment. We currently meet the first Wednesday of each month. TED talks can be informative, thought-provoking and inspiring, and can spark off lively discussion. Topics fall within the realm of science, arts, technology, humanities, social sciences, philosophy etc.
We also have additional meetings from time to time in a couple of different locations. A topic of interest is decided upon before the meeting and 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, which will inform our discussion on the night. A bit like a book club, where you read the book beforehand!
Discussions are in a respectful environment to encourage the participation of people with varying viewpoints and backgrounds. We also encourage you to bring ideas and perspectives from your own life experience and other content you may have read, watched or listened to.
We hope to see you at a meetup very soon!

What makes a good life?
Third Space Smithfield, Dublin 7, D, IEWe are daily fed an endless stream of messages, from many sources, shouting into our perception some version of a good life. “With this ‘widget’ you too can get an upgrade into all that you wanted life to be.” Conversely…”Without this ________ you will miss out on the life you desire.” Thus, the social phenomenon of FOMO, i.e Fear Of Missing Out. Faced with making choices amidst the ever-expanding horizon of options what are we to do? What set of criteria comes into play when deciphering between the boundless options we are presented with on a daily basis? How are we to decipher the wheat from the chaff, the good from the bogus?
