What we’re about
We are a group of people who enjoy discussing TED talks in a sociable environment. We currently meet the first Wednesday of each month. TED talks can be informative, thought-provoking and inspiring, and can spark off lively discussion. Topics fall within the realm of science, arts, technology, humanities, social sciences, philosophy etc.
We also have additional meetings from time to time in a couple of different locations. A topic of interest is decided upon before the meeting and 𝒘𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒐𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, which will inform our discussion on the night. A bit like a book club, where you read the book beforehand!
Discussions are in a respectful environment to encourage the participation of people with varying viewpoints and backgrounds. We also encourage you to bring ideas and perspectives from your own life experience and other content you may have read, watched or listened to.
We hope to see you at a meetup very soon!

https://www.ted.com/talks/aisha_nyandoro_what_does_wealth_mean_to_you?language=en
For people living in poverty, a guaranteed income can mean finally having the space to dream of a comfortable life. Sharing the stories of single moms who participated in a first-of-its-kind program that offered them $1,000 per month with no strings attached, poverty disrupter Aisha Nyandoro calls for us to redefine what it means to be wealthy — putting aside lavish vacations and fancy cars in favor of paid bills and a well-fed family — and to listen when people tell us what they need most.
Aisha Nyandoro is on a mission to help families thrive.

# # ★ Video #2: The keys to living a rich life | Bridget Hilton | TEDxTemecula
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd1DUyjtIZ4
What makes a rich life? Goal setting expert Bridget Hilton explores the surprising truth about wealth—that it's not found in bank accounts but in purposeful action and meaningful impact. Through her journey from the music industry, to giving 50,000 people hearing aids across 40 countries, to writing a best selling book, audiences discover how going from dreaming to doing creates genuine fulfillment. Drawing from conversations with 20,000 people worldwide, this powerful keynote reveals the one trait all truly wealthy people share: they create urgency and accountability around their dreams - instead of waiting for 'someday'.
Bridget is a leading expert on the art, science, and path to building a life rich in experiences. Inspired by a viral video of a deaf woman hearing for the first time, she founded the first social good electronics company, LSTN Sound Co., and traveled the world giving over 50,000 people the gift of hearing.
