Becoming a Funded Trader – Beyond Passing the Challenge
Following my presentation at the London Prop Trading Expo in October, I've decided to bring back VTP Stage 5 – Becoming a Funded Trader, but with a more practical approach.
One of the main points I made during my presentation, Beyond Passing – The Trading Business You're Trying to Build, was that passing a prop firm challenge and successfully managing a funded trading account are two very different things.
There are still genuine opportunities within the funded trading industry, but there are also challenges around risk management, drawdown limits, consistency, discipline and managing yourself under pressure.
Rather than simply delivering another series of educational presentations, I wanted to give traders the opportunity to see how these challenges are dealt with in practice.
### What Does the Programme Include?
From 9 November to 4 December 2026, I'll be running a four-week Prop Trading Experience combining the original VTP Stage 5 educational material with live trading sessions and weekly trader reviews.
The programme includes:
- Access to the original VTP Stage 5 educational recordings and supporting resources.
- Live FX trading sessions on Tuesday mornings.
- Live indices trading sessions on Thursday afternoons.
- Weekly Friday trader reviews, examining decisions, execution, risk management and performance.
- An opportunity to observe how I prepare for the markets, manage trades, deal with mistakes and adapt when things don't go to plan.
I'll also be trading through my own CMC Funded account using Match-Trader, a platform I've never traded on before.
That should make the experience particularly interesting! Alongside the usual challenges of trading, I'll be getting to grips with an unfamiliar platform, learning its features and undoubtedly making a few mistakes along the way.
There may be the occasional frustration and a few choice words, but that's part of trading. It's one thing to talk about discipline, preparation and adaptability. It's another to demonstrate those skills when something goes wrong in real time.
### Programme Dates and Sessions
Programme: Monday 9 November – Friday 4 December 2026
Week 1: Educational recordings, preparation and introductory resources.
First live trader review: Friday 13 November, 12:30–13:30 UK.
Weeks 2–4:
- Tuesdays, 08:30–10:00 – Live FX Trading
- Thursdays, 15:15–16:45 – Live Indices Trading
- Fridays, 12:30–13:30 – Trader Performance Review
There are 10 live sessions across the programme, providing approximately 13 hours of live trading and reviews.
### Who Is This For?
This experience is designed for traders who are considering funded trading, currently attempting prop firm challenges, or already managing funded accounts and looking to improve their approach.
The objective isn't simply to help traders pass a challenge. It's to help them develop a better understanding of the processes, discipline and risk management required to operate consistently within the funded trading environment.

The cost is £147 for the complete four-week programme.

Following payment, you'll be enrolled in the VTP online learning platform, where you'll receive access to the educational recordings, programme resources and live session information.
