Singing and Drinking in the Afternoon (Sirens and Cyclops episodes)

In the late afternoon of June 16 1904, Leopold Bloom visits two drinking establishments, the Ormond Hotel and Barney Kiernan’s pub. He is there to dine and meet people but he also experiences singing, banter and a barney in Barney’s.

We will meet in Temple Bar and retrace Mr Bloom’s footsteps with readings and discussions. The walk will finish in Little Britain Street.

This guided tour is suitable for all levels of engagement with Joyce’s epic novel. You do not need to have read Ulysses to enjoy the walk.
