Dublin Walk, Hike, Outdoors & Social Events is a community created to expand social circles, explore new cultures, and enjoy exciting activities around Dublin. Whether you're a local or new to the city, our goal is to provide a welcoming space where you can meet new friends while participating in fun and engaging social events.
Our events include a mix of outdoor activities like walks and hikes, as well as social gatherings for lunch, dinner, or drinks. There's something for everyone!

A few important guidelines for members:

If you RSVP to an event but can’t attend, please change your RSVP to "No" as soon as possible to free up space for others.
After 3 no-shows, members may be removed from the group to allow new members from the waiting list to join.
For outdoor activities, ensure you wear appropriate clothing and comfortable footwear, and bring essentials like snacks or drinks. We usually meet at a convenient location near public transport, and while we wait for a bit if you're running late, we will proceed with the event after a short delay.

Safety is a priority:
All members participate at their own risk. If you have health concerns, please consult your doctor before joining more strenuous walks, and inform the event organizer if needed. By attending our events, you accept responsibility for your own safety.

Howth Cliff Walk (Green Route)

Hi all,

Let's go to Howth for a hike.

We're meeting at Howth DART station at 9:30am. We'll start walking from Howth DART station at 9:45am.

We'll follow the green route (The Cliff Walk) and finish around 12:30pm. After the walk we can stay in Howth for some chatting, drinks, and food with those who’d like to hang out a bit longer!

This is a moderate hike. Please get prepared accordingly.

I'm a tall guy with a man bun. I'll share updates to find each other easier in the morning. Please keep checking the event updates.

You can download the free Discover Howth App which has all Howth hiking routes included in it. Each map also points out places of interest and historical spots along the route.

Hike Overview:
Meeting time: 9:30 am @ Howth train station, in front of the shop called Day Break.
Departure time: 9:45 am (Howth)
Route: We'll follow green route and finish at the Howth train station.
Distance: 8km
Walking Time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Total time: 3 hours
End time: 12:30 pm

Howth Cliff Walk
This Cliff Walk loop is one of four which starts at the
DART (train) Station in the heart of the village. You are taken along the harbour before climbing away from the village around the Nose of Howth and onto the clifftops.
Take in the stunning views of Lambay Island and Ireland's Eye, and be overwhelmed by the heady scent of coconut from the bright yellow gorse on the heath.
The Baily Lighthouse - the last of Ireland's lighthouses to become automated - comes into view before you ascend towards the car park at 'The Summit' and return to Howth Village along a path running parallel to your outward route.
