Established in 2006, the Dublin Java User Group is the official, independent JUG in Leinster, and also the oldest JUG in Ireland. It's strength lies in the Java Rockstars and Java Champion who come to Dublin every month to share their skills and knowledge with the local community. We cover Java and JVM languages, with a focus on the newer, more functional features of Java 8, lambdas, streams, & more.

Our June event, Tuesday 17th June, is being hosted by our Platinum partner SQUARESPACE. In Dublin, their development team numbers the hundreds and, aside from our guest speaker, Simon Ritter, one of their team will provide a lightening talk about their development platform.
On to our guest speaker! Simon has been around Java longer than most of us (well, not me at least) have been alive! He joined Sun Microsystems just as Java was being released in May 1995 which puts him in a good place to discuss just why Java is still in the top three most used languages.
His second talk of the night will be about Vector API's.
