About us
Established in 2006, the Dublin Java User Group is the official, independent JUG in Leinster, and also the oldest JUG in Ireland. It's strength lies in the Java Rockstars and Java Champion who come to Dublin every month to share their skills and knowledge with the local community. We cover Java and JVM languages, with a focus on the newer, more functional features of Java 8, lambdas, streams, & more.

After a CRACKING night over in Squarespace 70 plus developers (50/50 M/F), we're on to our next event of 2026 series. July 29th see us welcome Tyson Gern, PhD AND Dutch bases Italian Paulo Brunasti to DubJUG!
Tyson, based in Boulder Colorado, is a founder of software consultancy Initial Capacity, Inc. And this isn't his first trip to Dublin. He was the lead of Pivotal Labs office here, opening in 2016.
With a Phd in mathematics, you can expect his talk to be deep and stimulating!
We have also added Paulo Brunasti to the mix. Paulo has a long and prestigious career as a Java developer and engineering lead. In his talk, he'll be sharing practical insights on integrating AI into engineering workflows without compromising code quality, architectural integrity, or long-term strategy.
