CoderDojo Open Source, Data tier in a JS app and JS+IoT

Details

Hey guys,

the December edition of DublinJS is almost upon us and we have three great talks lined up. Thanks to our sponsor, Swrve (https://www.swrve.com), for providing pizza for the meetup.

Contributing to CoderDojo's open source community project - Ursula Clarke Everett @tangentfairy (https://twitter.com/tangentfairy)
The CoderDojo Foundation recently relaunched Zen (https://zen.coderdojo.com/) as a new open source community platform!
This new system allows CoderDojo community members (Mentors and Champions) to fully manage their Dojo activities like issuing tickets to individual Dojo events, posting in forums, editing and setting up profiles etc. The system is completely open source.
We're using some cutting edge open source technology for the system including NodeJS, AngularJS and Mozilla Open Badges. We will cover how to get set up for development and demo how open your first pull request!

The data tier in a JS app - Sergey Danilov @pencroff (https://twitter.com/pencroff)
Role and advantages of the data tier. Solutions available on the market. Approaches with adapter based implementation.

JS+IoT
Cesanta (https://github.com/cesanta/v7) has developed a world's smallest JS engine and aims to bring JS environment to the most constraint embedded environments, making IoT (Internet of Things) development available to the large audience of JS programmers. Of course, there are certain specifics about embedded programming, which I am going to describe.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!
