A synthesis of work undertaken byseveral teams inAccenture. The goal: seek optimization in performance and quality of image processing algorithms. The talk will detail the optimization goal, the JS techniques to achieve the goal, any other learnings along the way and some nice pictures and maybe fancy graphsof the results.

One day I found myself wanting Hot Module Replacement for Rollup, and decided that the best way to achieve that goal, was to write a development bundler from the ground up that supported the feature. In this talk, I’ll share what I’ve learned and cover the fundamental concepts of what goes behind a simple bundler - Parsing, Transforming, HMR, and discuss various issues that can come up such as ESM live-binding and CommonJS interop.
